The Friends of Florence was established in 1986 with the single purpose of transporting cancer patients for radiation treatments in Eugene/Springfield. Currently we drive a daily round trip from Peace Harbor Hospital in Florence to the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute in Eugene, and the Oregon Urology Institute in Springfield.
The 501c3 non-profit organization is operated by volunteers and entirely funded by donations.

In 1985 PT Smith lost his beloved wife to cancer. During her fight her saw a real need for transportation from Florence to Eugene for daily radiation patients. He started Friends of Forence to address that need.
Memorial Gifts are a special way of remembering those we love. In moments like these, when you want to express some form of tribute to honor a special person, a memorial gift to support the Friends of Florence actually becomes a living gift becasue it will serve to benefit others.
